CANCELLATION OF ALL INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS UNTIL SEPTEMBER
The health crisis that we are undergoing forces us to cancel events requiring upstream preparation and travel guarantees.
The Calvi Open, the Purtichju Open, the International Blitz of Ciamannace and Quenza are, thus, concerned.
We will see, however, if it is possible to envisage the traditional Match of Champions in Portivechju, but at the end of June.
As for the Ghjustra Europea di i Giovani in Bastia, which brings together 3,500 schoolchildren, it has been postponed until the start of the 2020 school year.
The finals of the Corsican youth championships qualifying for the French championships (postponed to August) will be organised, health conditions permitting, at the end of June.
On the other hand the two stages of the Corsican are maintained in Bastia and Aiacciu in October.
Our association is pleased with the success of these online tournaments "Mat au Covid-19" which have already seen the participation of hundreds of players. They will therefore be maintained throughout the duration of the confinement on Wednesdays and Sundays at 5pm (free registration on the site www.corse-echecs.corsica).
